Cannot add certain catagories to budget

I modified a few the existing catagories in my budget and tried to enter new ones. The software will not accept the new items for some of the new budget catagories. I reinstalled the software, did not work. I deleted all budget entries and started over same ones would be accepted and the same ones rejected. Ant suggestions?

Thanks for your quick response. I discovered that when I hit delete it was not in fact deleting the entry but was filtering it so it did not show. Then when i added a new entry with the same name it filtered it also making it appear to be rejecting the entry. I reset the filter and all of the entries showed up and I corrected it from there.
