The Action Log is a very useful tool that lets you find out who, when and what added, edited or deleted
and undo any action, even those which were done a long time ago.
In the table, we see the date and time, user name, the action they performed, the entry type and description, and what exactly was changed. You can view and edit entries directly in the log by double-clicking on a row. Let's change the transaction description and we immediately see how the new row with our action appears in the log. Now let's change the transaction date and once again: another action appears in the table.
Uno actions
Any action can be undone: to do this, click "Revoke" in the context menu. Let's undo the description change. As you can see, the transaction description has been restored, but the date editing remains. You can undo any action: creation, editing and deletion, even if the action was done long ago. A voided action can be restored the same way.
Finding actions
To make it easier to find the desired entry or action, you can display only a certain type of entry or action. You can also enable grouping by user and select the desired time interval. In the editing window for any entry, you can open a log showing only actions performed on that specific entry.
Clearing the log
You can clear the log by deleting the change history for the selected entry or for all entries in the database, thus reducing the file size. Be careful, clearing the log cannot be undone!
User permissions
By default, new users can only see their own actions in the log and cannot undo them. To allow a user to clear the log or undo actions, you must add the appropriate permissions in the access rights. The "Access" checkbox allows the user to see other users' actions in the log. The "Editing" checkbox allows the user to undo and redo actions. And the "Deleting" checkbox allows the user to clear the log.
