Graphical reports and what useful information we can learn from them
The app has various and customizable graphical reports. Here you can find a lot of useful information, for example: price dynamics or payee balances.
At the top we can see the report settings: report type, what data to show and how to group it. On the right panel you can choose which categories will be shown on the chart. By double-clicking on the category you can drill down to the subcategories.
Overview report
The "Overview" report shows the total values of expenses or income for the selected period. Data can be grouped by categories, accounts, payees and so on. Here you can also see the total cash flow, that is, income minus expenses. As well as the balance, but here it will just be the value at the end of the selected period. The balance is more interesting in dynamics, so let's move on to the "Trends" report.
Trends report
Here we see the balance of all accounts. The buttons below allow you to select the type of the graph. Similarly, you can see the balance, for example, of all payees. This is the total income (or loss) for each payee. Also here is the cash flow report, and finally, income or expenses separately.
Data can be grouped by categories, family members, payees, as well as by accounts or transaction descriptions. Not only the amount, but also the price or quantity can be shown on graph. This way, you can track the price dynamics of a particular product or service.
Cashflow report
The last report is called "Cashflow". It displays four graphs simultaneously: balance, expenses, income, and cashflow. There are no additional settings, so you need to use filters to get a report for a specific category or payee.
