Interface and some of the new features in the 7th version of the Alzex Finance application
When you run the app for the first time, it prompts you to open a demo database. Let's do it. Several people can work with the database, but we will explore this functionality later. Now just select the Administrator and click OK.
Main window and Time interval
Here we can switch between different tabs: Overview, Transactions, Categories, Calendar, and so on. Next comes the button with current interval. Transactions that do not fall into this period, are not displayed. Click on it to set one of the predefined or custom period. Use arrows to move to the previous or next interval.
Overview tab and currencies
Let's take a closer look at the "Overview" tab. It shows a summary information: balance trend, exchange rates and recent transactions. Active currencies are at the top of the list, then all the rest. Unnecessary currencies can be disabled. Don't forget to set the default currency! Click on the star button to hide unused currencies.
Awaiting approval transactions
On the right we see a list of transactions. Awaiting approval transactions are pinned to the top of the list. Usually, these are planned transactions for which the exact amount or date is unknown. Let's make all necessary changes and confirm the transaction.
Transactions editing
Almost any field can be edited directly in the table. You can also split one transaction or merge several transactions. All actions can be easily undone or redone.
View customizing
Click on the header to sort the table. Right click on the header to customize the displayed columns. You can also change the width of the columns and their order.
Transactions tab and accounts
Let's move to the "Transactions" tab. On the left we see a list of accounts and the total balance. Accounts can be arranged or moved into group with a simple drag and drop. You can create any number of accounts. Rarely used accounts can be hidden. Select an account to display a list of transactions for this account on the right.
Transactions can be grouped by date, categories, family members and so on. You can drag transactions from one category to another or to another account. For more complex operations, there is a batch editing tool, which we'll explore in a separate video.
Filters
The application has a powerful and flexible system of filters. Let's apply some filters. You can change the filter type: included or excluded. And the same information (with all filters applied), but in a graphical form on the "Reports" tab.
